"A Step 2 Success"

"A Step 2 Success" is a public charity operated by the Aarsand Family Foundation, Inc. It is our family's hope to further the philanthropic wishes of our late founder, Knut J. Aarsand (1940-2002) through this charity. Since its inception in 2004 the charity has supported more than 25 young people who are trying to improve their lives, one step at a time! The support is available to college and high school age youth from designated counties in the middle Atlantic region of the U.S.

Support is also given to organizations. We currently assist the Maryland State Boychoir, and area Boys and Girls Clubs, as they help particular youth who are taking one step at time.

While we are a public charity and depend on public support to further our cause, we are indebted to the Aarsand Company for providing all the funds to run this charity. As such, it is our promise that 100% of public money given will be used to directly help individual youth or organizations.

The company promotes an annual fund drive to support A Step 2 Success within all our stores. In 2008 over $20,000 was given by store patrons!

Our mission: "is dedicated to directly helping adolescents committed to improving themselves through education and skill development and helping organizations that assist young men and women achieve self-improvement. The emphasis of the foundation is to lift up, mentor, train, educate, support and monitor individuals who need the support otherwise unavailable to them."
